Printed parts only for the open-source SO-101 robot arm by The Robot Studio, the low-cost leader–follower arm used in the Hugging Face LeRobot tutorials. Every structural part for a follower arm, a leader arm, or the pair, printed to order in Melbourne from the official STL files and on its way in 3–5 business days. Servos, driver board, power supply and screws are not included.
Pictures are renders made from the official STL files — photos of our printed parts are coming soon.
Printed in-house in Melbourne, Australia. Ships in 3–5 business days. Standard shipping A$10 Australia-wide, free on orders over A$100.
The SO-101 design is © The Robot Studio and contributors, released under the Apache License 2.0: github.com/TheRobotStudio/SO-ARM100. We print the published files unmodified. Formada3D is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by The Robot Studio, Hugging Face, Seeed Studio, Waveshare or Feetech; those names are used only to describe compatibility.

Moving machinery. These are structural parts for a hobby and research robot arm. Servos, electronics and fixings are not included: follow the SO-101 assembly guide, use the screw sizes it lists, check they are tight before use and inspect the parts regularly for wear or cracks. A powered arm can pinch and can move unexpectedly during calibration: keep fingers, hair and cables clear, power it only from the supply the servo maker specifies, and never leave it running unattended. Not for safety-critical, load-bearing or overhead use. The parts are PLA, which can soften above about 55 °C, so keep the arm away from heaters and direct sun. Damage caused by misuse, modification, overloading, incorrect wiring or heat isn't a fault in the product. This doesn't affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Colour & finish. Each piece is printed to order, so slight colour or sheen differences can occur between filament batches. Fine layer lines are part of the 3D-printed finish. This doesn't affect strength or fit.
Do I get the servos and electronics?
No. This is the printed skeleton only: 11 parts for a follower, 12 for a leader, 23 for the pair. Each arm also needs 6 Feetech STS3215 bus servos, a bus-servo driver board, a power supply and a USB cable, sold separately by electronics retailers as the SO-ARM101 servo / motor kit. Screws are not included either: the arm uses the M2 and M3 screws supplied with the servos.
Follower, leader or the pair?
The follower is the arm the robot moves; the leader is the one you hold to teach it. For LeRobot teleoperation and data collection you need the pair. To run a trained policy, a follower alone is enough.
Which driver-board mounting plate do I get?
The WaveShare bus-servo adapter plate by default, which is the board in most kits. If your kit uses the Seeed Studio XIAO driver board, write 'Seeed plate' in the order note and we print that plate instead, same price.
Are the files modified?
No. We print the official SO-101 STL release from The Robot Studio (Apache-2.0) as published, at the settings the project recommends. If a newer official revision appears we move to it and say so here.
How long until it ships?
Printed to order: a follower or leader set is about 12 hours of printing, so sets ship in 3 to 5 business days. Standard shipping is A$10 Australia-wide, free on orders over A$100. Class sets and invoices: see the business parts page.
What material is the SO-101 Robot Arm Printed Parts Set — Follower, Leader or Pair (for the LeRobot open-source arm) printed in?
Printed in plant-based PLA — made from renewable plant sugars (corn & sugarcane), not petroleum — with a lower carbon footprint than traditional plastics. Every order is printed to order in Melbourne, so there's no mass-production waste and nothing sitting in a warehouse.
How long does shipping take?
Australia: $10 standard / $15 express, free standard shipping over $100 · New Zealand: $15 · United States: $20 · Other countries: $25. Every item is printed to order and ships in 3–5 business days from Melbourne. Returns: if it arrives faulty or not as described, we repair, reprint or refund under the Australian Consumer Law.
