Keycap Display Tray — 16 Keycaps, Drop-In Acrylic Lid, Optional Stand

A display tray for your favourite keycaps: sixteen 1u caps in a 4 x 4 grid, each in its own deep cell, under a clear acrylic lid. Prop it on the stand to show the set off at your desk, or lay it flat on a shelf or in a drawer.

The lid is a 4 x 4 in (101.6 mm) sheet of clear 1 mm acrylic. It slides in from the back under a lip on three sides, and in the last half-millimetre it drops behind a small ridge, so it stays put flat or on the stand. To open it, put a fingertip in the notch, lift the back edge slightly and pull.

• Drop-in lid: clear 1 mm acrylic, 4 x 4 in (101.6 x 101.6 mm), held on three sides by a 2.5 mm lip and at the back by the drop-in ridge
• Stand (Tray + Stand option): a solid wedge that holds the tray at 65°, with the open end of the lid slot at the top so the lid rests on the closed front edge
• Tray: 108 x 106.8 x 25.7 mm. On the stand: about 108 mm wide, 79 mm deep and 111 mm tall
• 3D printed in PLA (matte or basic finish, 14 colours), made to order in Melbourne, Australia

In the box: the tray, one clear acrylic lid (4 x 4 in, 1 mm, with a protective film on both sides) and, with the Tray + Stand option, the stand. Keycaps are not included. The first, eighth and ninth pictures are renders of the design; the others are photos of a printed tray (Matte Black).

Fits: MX-style 1u keycaps. Most artisan and profile caps fit; if yours is taller than 16.5 mm or wider than 18.3 mm at the base, check it against the cell size before you order. Not affiliated with any keyboard or keycap brand.

Care: peel the film off both sides of the lid before use. Clean the lid with a soft cloth and water, or a little mild soap. Do not use alcohol, glass cleaner or solvents on it, because they can craze acrylic. PLA softens above about 55 °C, so keep the tray out of hot cars and direct sun.

Which keycaps fit the Keycap Display Tray?
MX-style 1u keycaps. Each of the 16 cells is 20 x 20 mm and 18.5 mm deep, so a cap up to 18.3 mm square at the base and 16.5 mm tall (SA row 1 height) fits with 2 mm of air under the lid. A cross-shaped post in every cell locates the cap so it sits straight. Very tall artisan caps: check the height first.

Is the acrylic lid included, and how does it stay in?
Yes, every tray comes with one clear 1 mm acrylic lid, 4 x 4 in (101.6 mm). It slides in from the back under a 2.5 mm lip and drops behind a small ridge when it is fully in, so it does not slide out flat or on the stand. To open it, lift the back edge slightly at the finger notch and pull.

Tray + Stand or Tray only?
The stand is a solid wedge that holds the tray at 65° on a desk; on it the display is about 108 mm wide, 79 mm deep and 111 mm tall. Choose Tray only if it will lie flat on a shelf or in a drawer. The tray itself is 108 x 106.8 x 25.7 mm.
