Printed examples

A FORMADA3D word cutter made in this studio — the letters are mirrored on the cutter so the imprint in the dough reads the right way. White PLA, printed in Melbourne on a Bambu Lab printer, no post-processing. Tap a photo to enlarge.

How our cutters are built

Sharp 0.8 mm cutting edge that thickens to a sturdy 1.6 mm body, 16 mm tall, with a wide flat back flange to press on — the standard the best cookie shops use. Every cutter is fully open front and back so the dough pushes straight through — no fiddly cleaning.

Care

Hand wash in cold soapy water (no dishwasher — PLA softens with heat). Dry before storing.

Cookie cutter questions

Where can I order or buy custom cookie cutters?

Online, from Formada3D. Design your cutter in this Cookie Cutter Maker — any name, number or shape, or your own drawing — add it to the cart and pay by card or PayPal. We print it to order in Melbourne in 3–5 days and post it with tracking Australia-wide and overseas. Prefer ready-made? The Birthday Number set (0–9) ships from the shop.

Can I get bespoke cookie cutters made?

Yes — every cutter from this studio is made to your own design, printed fresh for your order. If you want something the studio cannot do on its own, use the "Ask a question / send for a quote" link next to the price, or the quote page (we reply within 24 hours). No licensed characters or logos.

Where can I find personalised name cookie cutters?

Here: choose Numbers & text and type the name (A–Z, 0–9). The studio joins and thickens the letters so the cutter is one solid piece, and mirrors them so the name reads the right way round in the dough. Longer names simply make longer cutters, with the same 0.8 mm cutting edge.

How can I design my own cookie cutter shape?

Pick Shapes for hearts, stars and more, or Your drawing: draw a solid dark shape on light paper, photograph or scan it, and drop it in — the outline is traced into a cutter right in your browser and the image never leaves the page. Set the size (widest side), check the 3D preview and order. Clean outlines work best; detail below about 2 mm is simplified so the cutter releases the dough.

Is it okay to use 3D printed cookie cutters?

Yes, for cutting raw dough. Standard cutters are printed in PLA: use them with dough only, and hand-wash before and after use. Standard PLA is not food-contact certified. Need food-safe certified material? Tick “Food-safe certified material (Bambu PLA Pure)” when ordering, at no extra cost. Dry them before storing. Keep them out of the dishwasher and away from hot water or hot trays — PLA softens with heat.

Is it better to use plastic or metal cookie cutters?

It depends on what you need. Stainless metal cutters suit stock shapes, heavy daily use and the dishwasher. A 3D printed plastic cutter is how you get a name, number or shape nobody sells, with a wide flat flange that is comfortable to press. Ours have a sharp 0.8 mm cutting edge on a 16 mm tall body; the trade-off is hand-washing only and no heat.

Where can I buy cookie cutters in bulk?

For a bulk or event order, send the design and the quantity through our quote page and choose Bulk / wholesale printing — we reply within 24 hours. Every cutter is printed to order in Melbourne. For birthday numbers, the full 0–9 set is a single product in the shop.

Can I get a matching cookie stamp?

Yes — the Stamp Maker makes cookie and fondant embossers from text, a shape or your logo, with a wide block handle. Make the stamp a little smaller than the cutter so the pattern sits inside the cut edge.
