How to assemble the Paint Rack Tower + Riser Gallery

How to assemble the Paint Rack Tower + Riser Gallery: an interactive 3D guide in 8 steps. Turn, zoom and explode the model, then build it step by step. Printed to order in Melbourne.

  1. Step 1 · Base wings. Stand the Base Wing LEFT and RIGHT upright with the slots facing each other and the feet pointing backward. The feet end level with the back of each wing. No glue, no screws anywhere in this kit.
  2. Step 2 · Base plate. Slot the Base Plate's side tabs into the lowest row of slots, one in each wing. Lock it with the 2 SHORT wedges: push one down through the slot in each tab, just outside the wing. The short wedges are for the base plate only.
  3. Step 3 · Shelf plates. Slot the two Shelf Plates into levels 1 and 2 the same way, with the bottle-catch arms at the front. Lock each one with 2 Wedge Locks (the taller wedge), 4 in total. Tap each wedge until it's snug. You can re-tighten them any time.
  4. Step 4 · Top plate. Fit the Top Shelf Plate into the top row of slots. Bottles go at the front and the 6 universal wells sit on the raised back tier. The tower on its own (Form 1) is now done. If you have the riser add-on, carry on.
  5. Step 5 · Extension wings. Lower each Extension Wing straight down onto its Base Wing. The two notches in its bottom edge drop over the two tenons on top of the base wing, and the slots face inward.
  6. Step 6 · Snap pins. Push a Snap Pin through each joint from the outside, 2 per side (4 in total), until the forks click out on the inside. To take one out, squeeze the forks.
  7. Step 7 · Riser shelves. Slide the 3 riser shelves' tabs into the angled slots in the extension wings at slot levels 2, 6 and 10, counting up from the bottom (10 levels, 28 mm apart). Keep them 4 levels apart so a capped dropper bottle clears the shelf above. This guide shows 2 Citadel-size flat stagger shelves (11 pots each) with 1 Vallejo double shelf (15 bottles) on top. Your kit could also have 3 Vallejo, 2 Vallejo + 1 Citadel or 3 Citadel shelves, in any order. Tap 2 Wedge Locks into each shelf, 6 in total. The whole riser lifts off if you want to go back to the tower on its own.
  8. Step 8 · Done. Load your paints. It holds up to 96 paints (84–96 depending on your shelf mix; this setup holds 88). Fits: dropper bottles (Vallejo, Army Painter, AK, Scale75, Two Thin Coats) on the plates and the dropper shelves. Citadel pots go in the 6 top wells and on the Citadel shelves.
